WHAT IS ACCREDITATION?
Accreditation is an endorsement of a Conformity Assessment Body’s (CAB) competence, credibility, independence and integrity in carrying out its conformity assessment activities.
Accreditation is the means by which an authoritative body, such as the JAS-ANZ, gives formal recognition that an organization, such as a registrar, is competent to carry out specific tasks. Accreditation provides assurance to the registrar’s customers that the registrar continues to operate according to internationally accepted criteria.
The International Accreditation Forum – IAF, a global association of accreditation bodies, has published a report on the value of accredited certification.
