This is due to the constant updates and adaptations to market needs, as well as the efforts of management system professionals to create more favorable and beneficial scenarios for all stakeholders.

This effort to create value for all stakeholders leads thousands of companies to focus on the various aspects of management systems. Thus, year after year, organizations implement new systems and adopt new best practices in management. However, merely implementing a system can lead to bureaucracy and inefficiency, so continuous improvement is not only advantageous but mandatory!

  • ISO 45001: Occupational Health And Safety Management System (OHSMS);
  • ISO 27001: Information Security Management System (ISMS);

These systems focus on specific areas and strengthen organizational compliance. Continuous improvement permeates these systems in the pursuit to ensure that they are increasingly assertive and efficient.

Thus, methodologies already mentioned, such as PDCA, Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma, and even 5S, operate in all management systems according to the context of the organization and the system itself.

For example, while Lean can be very valuable in reducing waste and rework, supporting quality management, the 5S methodology not only complements this view but also helps to reduce the number of accidents, supporting the occupational health and safety management system.

Using a management system implies implementing practices that the organization has not yet used. Thus, initially, even with competent implementation, it’s natural for the company to have not yet found the best way to execute certain practices.

Through the constant search for continuous improvement, it is possible to adapt good practices to better execution and the context of the company. This streamlines processes and eliminates unnecessary tasks, as well as enables the company to have a greater awareness of its strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities.

In summary, continuous improvement ‘fights a lion every day’ and directs the company to new levels of excellence, execution, and stakeholder satisfaction. Implementing a management system is the first step towards all this, but continuous improvement is the ongoing journey towards the final goal.
